On June 30, 2017, our founder and managing partner Julie Warnecke took part in another special feature for Inside Indiana Business, this time around for their first Tech Town Hall broadcast of 2017.
In Julie’s interview, she discussed the growth of women in the Indianapolis technology workforce with Senior VP of Technology at Angie’s List, Robin Fleming. Alongside host Gerry Dick and other top executives, Julie explained the change for women in tech since she returned to Central Indiana from the Silicon Valley over 10 years ago.
While working for Google in the Silicon Valley, she expressed her experience of being surrounded by ambitious, motivated women who supported each other in making their career a priority. From returning back to Indiana in 2006, to over 10 years later in 2017, Julie described the change in landscape and increase of women taking on leadership roles in the workforce. Based on this upward-moving trend, along with the impact of youth/women tech organizations in Indianapolis, the executives agreed that this increase in women leadership should continue to climb.
